Growing up in the south west inevitably meant many trips throughout the year to Croyde or Woolacombe. But those trips were spent smashing around in the white water not really getting anywhere. What that did give me was a love for the ocean.

However at 18 I moved to Switzerland to pursue a career in the mountains. Then one day I remember talking to my brother and at the age of 30 I was goaded into booking a month long trip to Sri Lanka to learn to surf “properly”. Having been in Sri Lanka we decided to move on to Australia where we surfed around the south and east coasts.

After a successful trip I decided to knock Switzerland on the head and move back to Devon. I found my self in Croyde working for a Surf School, where I met Anthony, founder of UK Surfer. It was at croyde where I really got addicted to surfing.

But over the winter months watching double over head sets roll in I quickly realised I wanted nothing to do with it. I found my self always finding shelter at quality smaller waves!
